Battle of the Bulge!



Well this is a new (ok not new) but a MORE IMPORTANT goal that I am working on lately. It only took seeing a recent picture to make me realize how unhappy I am currently with my body. Though I have had some amazing opportunities to help this fat situation I still don't feel my best. So the DILIGENT! work begins. I don't know how realistic my goals are for my body and I have NO idea how to fully achieve the look I would like, or if it is even possible But I can only try. So I have included a height to weight chart. Seeing this is a tiny bit motivating, yet hugely discouraging. How much time will this take is the first question that comes to mind? When will I start to see results. You know back in the day when I really really worried about what everyone thought, I was able to loose alot of weight and I was probably the most fit I have ever been. So how do I gain that type of dedication and motivation again?

First things first I am trying to make sure that I am working out every single night. Even if this is only for a half hour cardio and about 20 min. of weight and ab training. Oh and lets not forget the ghetto booty! Larger and larger by the day. Wow I didn't realize. I know that I have things that need to be cut, sugar, soda, and prob. alot of the carbs. Any one have any suggestions on how to do this and not go CRAZY with deprivation? Good news is that the soda is NOT a huge problem for me. I think more than anything these days I have realized I am a board eater.. Meaning I am at home and don't have anything to do, so lets snack.. Bad Alisa BAD! SO that is the first thing to go. Next Something that I am trying to incorporate that I have not done since High school (when I was in the best shape of my life) is that I have started to pray about it. This may sound super strange, but I find sometimes (most of the time) when I am working out and I just want to stop and give up I just keep the pleading with the lord, to keep my body going. This does take a great deal of faith and trust that you can go that extra 2 min. The faith comes in that he will sustain me and not let my legs fall off on the treadmill. Yes there have been a million times that I thought that would happen. So this is my small, but hopefully successful play. Sort of. I am in the process of adding and refining, so if any of you have any ideas on how to stay motivated, and ideas on making it through this super long battle of the bulge I would totally LOVE your comments, ideas, success stories! I think I am going to try the Brazil booty dance! They teach it at the school and I have only seen the class and I try not to laugh. It's different. I think praying is a great way to start it is a righteous desire and the scriptures say to pray for everything, if it is important to you it is important to Him. what has helped me to loose my baby weight is to take measurements and not weigh myself every day. The weight on the scale can be deceiving because muscle weighs more than fat. So the scale may have higher numbers when you are actually getting slimmer. I recorded the #'s in a notepad so I could see my progress. Start slow with cutting things out. If you deprive yourself of sweets, soda, and carbs all at the same time you are going to hate it and if you're like me will totally eat way more of it all than normal. So maybe quit carbonation for a few weeks and then sweets. sorry this is so long. I am proud of you and know that this hard. best of luck!

Way to be so motivated! As soon as I get this baby out, I am definitely working this fat off because I feel like me stuck in a fat suit! HATE IT! I will not try to sabotage with treats when we work together!

Alisa, I have to tell you that I know how you feel. Now I know you will just tell me to shut up, because the whole world thinks i'm just fine, but I do feel that way. Sometimes we all feel like that whether we're Sandra Bolock or Lisa Stradling. You are a beautiful person inside and out. I really think you are so wonderful!!
